Go from lost, confused, and frustrated to confident that you can make a difference in your child’s life.
Let’s face it: you’ve been holding it together for a while now. Maybe:
- You’re getting daily calls from the school for immediate pick–up
- There is no shortage of sibling fights
- The grocery store meltdowns are jaw-dropping
- You’re certain your new-found grey hairs are a result of your child’s outbursts and tantrums
Any of this sound familiar? I know how you feel because I’ve been through it, too.
Hi, I’m Amanda Neadow and I’m the mother of two boys with ADHD. Since my boys were first diagnosed, I’ve spent years researching ADHD and trying to understand children’s ADHD behaviours and how we, the parents, can change them for the better.
When I say research, I mean I really hit the books.
I read all the self-help manuals, met with dozens of specialists, and attended countless therapy sessions. It took a long time, lots of trial and error, and many tears and hugs, but my family and I finally got to a better place.
We’ve learned strategies and tactics to help support our boys – to build up their confidence while staying patient. Is every day perfect? Yeah, no. But we’ve grown closer as a result of figuring out what works, what triggers the kids and what shifts we have to make in our lives.
Now, I’ve put this knowledge and experience to use to help other families through their struggles with ADHD. I provide parent mentoring services where I work with parents one-on-one to create strategies that they and their child need in order to navigate through everyday challenges.
What will you take away from parent mentoring sessions?
When you sign up for my parent mentoring services, we’ll connect for 10, one-hour sessions either in person, over the phone, or by video call.
These sessions will consist of an intro meeting where we’ll talk about your child and the shifts you’d like to experience in both your lives. We’ll also set goals for your child, and create an action plan with concrete steps to help your child reach these goals. Lastly, we’ll continue checking in for regular meetings where we’ll discuss what’s working, what’s not, and (if needed) how we can adapt our plan.
You can also schedule mentoring sessions as needed. Maybe you’re working to change your child’s behaviour and just need to ask a question, get some support, or seek advice. I’m here for that, too. We’ll connect for a singular one-hour session to talk over your issues and come to a resolution.
With the JDN Center’s parent mentoring services, you’ll:
- Gain a better understanding of your child and their unique needs
- Receive practical strategies to help change your child’s behaviours
- Feel a reduced amount of stress for both you and your child

- Find relief in someone who understands what you and your family are going through
During our parent mentoring sessions, not only will you learn about the ADHD brain and how it impacts your child’s behaviour, but you’ll identify your child’s unique challenges and behavioural triggers. Our sessions will help you develop strategies specific to your child’s needs.
Most importantly, you will become a more confident parent, equipped to handle the challenges of raising an ADHD child.
