Well, it’s the time of year when I step outside and know it’s November.
There’s a chill in my bones, the sky’s an ugly shade of grey, and it’s dark outside by 5 p.m.
As you can probably tell, I don’t like November.
Still, I manage to tolerate this dreary month because it means we’re getting closer to my favourite time of year…Christmas!
Christmas is a magical time of year, but it is also an extremely busy time.
Between the shopping, gift-wrapping, decorating and baking, sometimes we barely have enough time to breathe!
The holidays will pass me by and I’ll feel like I’ve been too wrapped up in the Christmas chaos to focus on what really matters: family.
Do you feel me?
Our schedules get overcrowded and we lose sight of quality time spent with those we love.
So Let’s Change That.
I’m proposing a challenge — both for myself and for you.
This challenge is to help us indulge in the holiday spirit, connect with family and friends, and most importantly, breathe.
Here’s the idea:
On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays I’ll be posting mini Christmas activities for you and your family on the JDN Facebook page.
With each post, I’ll invite you to take part in a holiday-centered activity with me. See how many you can do, and how many great memories you can make!
Starting on Wednesday, November 14, I’ll ask you to follow along with me on Facebook. I’ll continue posting activities until December 21. That’s 18 fun activities for you and your loved ones to try over the next few weeks!
Here’s a sneak peek at some of the challenges I’ll be posting.
You might be invited to:
- Bake holiday cookies as a family.
- Watch your favourite holiday movie with loved ones.
- Donate old toys to the Salvation Army.
- Or write a letter to Santa.
If you choose to join me in this challenge, I hope that by December 21 you feel like you’ve taken time to slow down, appreciate your loved ones, and indulge in the Christmas spirit.
